I’ve got a machine that could mine. I don’t mind my slow GUI/build/deploy/backup system in java. Is there a GitHub I can use to turn a mining processor into a data processor like dictionary, computer languages, icons, 2/3/4d?

Could the process of mining be turned into a graphical system? Say, like mining for parts in Minecraft or NMS actually is using hashing power to break down the “blocks” to create Bitcoin or some new currency? I dunno how computers work (I’m in tech sales), so if that’s dumb, forgive me.

[TASK] Program a system to mine Bitcoin while leaving other computer functions throttled at a maximum operating capacity

I have approximately 60 computers at my disposal, but they are not mine per say. I plan on mining Bitcoin on the computers while leaving all of the functions in tact. They need to be able to be logged on by multiple users while the program is running. It can slow the users down as much as possible, but it just needs to keep running the Bitcoin mining process the whole time. The computers are all 8GB of RAM and will have a constant power supply, but will be in use by people who have no idea what is going on all the while. Can it be done, or am I just dumb?
Payment will be one quarter of all money made from mining Bitcoin from now until I stop running the program.

ELI5: If mining Bitcoins increases the strength of the currency's security, does that mean a really, incredibly powerful computer system could hack the system?

I'm having a little trouble putting this into words, but if the protocols surrounding bit coin are unhackable, why does anyone care how strong they are? And if they are hackable, would it just take a computer that is stronger than the combined force of the computers mining bitcoin?

The integrity of the Bitcoin system ultimately depends on decentralizing of the power of computation. So, shouldn't everyone at least be encouraged to join a mining pool?

In other words, there's too much emphasis on ASICs and FPGAs and multi-GPU rigs. Isn't it important for the little guy to contribute to the system as well?
Shouldn't that be encouraged? Shouldn't pooling be built into clients for this very purpose?
